After graduating in law from the University of Sheffield, Helen stayed on at Sheffield to complete the Legal Practice Course. After a summer traveling Europe on Interrail, Helen joined Osbornes as a trainee solicitor in October 2005. In October 2007 Helen qualified as a solicitor and joined the Housing and Civil Litigation department.
Helen has experience in a broad range of housing matters including: possession, disrepair, unlawful eviction, homelessness and advising on status of tenancies. Helen has also acted on behalf of clients who are experiencing difficulties with their benefits and has successfully conducted appeals on behalf of clients whose benefits have been suspended, including applications for backdated Housing Benefits. Helen has a particular interest in complex disrepair cases and cases involving issues of Anti Social Behaviour.
Helen also acts on behalf of long leaseholders and freeholders in relation to a variety of property issues, including: service charge arrears; alterations; variations; disrepair and general advice on leasehold obligations.
