- motorcyclist receives compensation after sustaining serious head and spinal injuries
Motorcyclist receives substantial compensation following collision with lorry
A motorcyclist who sustained serious head and spinal injuries when he was hit by a lorry has received £3.35m in compensation in an out of court settlement.
The man was riding through a tunnel in heavy traffic when the lorry driver manoeuvred his lorry into one lane from another without any regard for his or any other drivers safety. Due to this the motorcyclist was knocked of his bike and had to remain in hospital for nearly one year recovering from injuries he sustained.
The victim now spends most of his time in a wheelchair as his walking is unsteady and slow. When outside he always uses a wheelchair or electric scooter. The compensation he received will enable the victim to buy a suitable property and adapt it to suit his needs using the latest technology available. It will also allow him to purchase the latest in aids and equipment and to purchase an adapted vehicle which he will be able to drive independently.
