Compensation for motorbike accident victim

A motorcyclist who suffered severe injuries after colliding with a car has received over £150,000 in compensation - more than four years after the accident.

The victim was riding his motorbike, overtaking slow moving traffic when a car suddenly pulled out across his path, meaning he collided with the vehicle.

The rider suffered multiple injuries including a collapsed lung and fractures to his skull, spine and pelvis. He also suffered fractures to his cheek, collar-bone, ribs and wrist as well as a broken jaw.

The victim remained in hospital for a total of three months before he was moved to another facility in order to undertake intensive physiotherapy.

As a result of the accident the victim needed to undergo a hip replacement and now lives with impaired memory, constant headaches, regular chest infections and has significant scarring to his chest and face. He also has not been able to return to work since the accident and is unsure whether he will ever be able to return to his former career as a mechanic.
