A worker who had part of his finger sliced off in a factory accident has received more than £4,000 in compensation.

The 25 year old man was working at the sweet factory when his left hand was pulled into the sweet making machine as he tried to clear a blockage. His index finger was severed to the top knuckle. The investigation concluded that the factory had failed to make sure the machine stopped operating when the guard was not in place.
