A man who was struck by a falling piece of gym equipment has received compensation after sustaining injuries to his shoulder, back and right leg.The man was using the gym when the bolts of another piece of gym equipment came lose causing it to topple over and strike him.

The accident caused the man pain for a significant period of time, he needed assistance to complete day-to-day tasks and was off work for several months. He has also subsequently been diagnosed with a psychological disorder arising from the accident, for which he is receiving therapy.
