Stair fall holidaymaker wins damages claim

An  elderly lady who broke her ankle when she feel down the steps to her villa whilst on holiday has won a claim for compensation.

The 75 year old, who was staying in Majorca, was left with a broken left ankle, a swollen eye and was badly shaken following the incident. The lady was walking down the stairs when she lost her footing and fell sustaining these injuries.

Tour operators have a duty to ensure that holidaymaker's accommodation is safe and that they are not exposed to injury. This was not the case for this holiday maker and she was therefore awarded £7,400.
