A nurse who was injured at work when she was assaulted by a patient has received £10,000 in compensation.

The nurse who works with patients with mental health issues was working in room when the patient assaulted her. The room did not have a panic button and there was not enough personal alarms to provide each member of staff with one. As a result the nurse was not able to alert colleagues.

The nurse sustained a back injury, aggravated a previous condition in her neck and shoulder and also developed depression and anxiety following the attack.
