The personal injury department at Osbornes have launched a new interactive road accidents map to highlight the number of road accidents which take place on a daily basis.
To find out how many accidents have taken place across 2011 in a particular area all users need to do is enter the postcode and they will be able to view all accident information, including details of each particular incident; the demographics of those involved, the type of vehicle involved and the weather conditions of the day of the accident.
Another feature of the road accident map is that users who have had an accident can register their accident so that it appears on the map.
Stuart Kightley, joint head of the personal injury department at Osbornes comments:
“Every week the team meet people who have sustained a serious injury after being involved in a road traffic accident. The sad fact is that most of these accidents were completely avoidable. Our hope is that we can use the data collected from the map to aid in the campaign for safer roads and even highlight specific accident hot spots where immediate action is needed to prevent further accidents”.
