Shilpa Mathuradas joined Osbornes in May 2002 as an Associate solicitor in the Property Litigation Department.
Shilpa has extensive experience in all areas of property litigation including possession, service charge disputes, rent arrears, forfeiture, dilapidations and lease renewals. She also has ample trial experience of both fast track and multi track cases.
Shilpa acts for residential and commercial landlords and tenants as well as large housing associations and other providers of social housing. Shilpa has represented a large housing association in connection with a claim to vary 148 leases and an application to discharge a restrictive covenant.
Shilpa has also successfully represented an individual in a claim under section 14 of the Trust of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 after a five day trial.
As well as property litigation Shilpa also has varied litigation experience and can also be found advising in respect of professional negligence claims, licensing, debt claims and contract disputes.
Shilpa enjoys keeping abreast of the latest developments in the law and can often be found with her head in books. Apart from this Shilpa also enjoys keeping fit, playing badminton and interior design. She is also compiling a book of philosophical sayings.
She is a member of the Property Litigation Association and the London Solicitors Litigation Association.
