Ruth Camp – Associate
Ruth Camp is an associate solicitor in the housing and propertylitigation team. Ruth
qualified as a solicitor in 2004 after studying atThe University
of Warwick and the Inns of Court and training as asolicitor
with Osbornes between 2002 and 2004. In 2009 Ruth became anassociate.
Ruth specialises in representing tenants in disputes withtheir
landlords. She represents a range of clients with housingdifficulties
including those where the landlord is seeking possession,those
where there is disrepair of property, those who face homelessnessand
other situations where problems with housing has led to difficultsituations.

Housing problems can affect
people from many different circumstances.Some of Ruth's clients
are rent act tenants who have lived inaccommodation for many
years and have special rights because of theirtenure. Other
clients are housing association or local authority tenantswith
a variety of housing problems. Some of Ruth's cases include
caseswhere there are a number of complex issues including
possession,disrepair, community care issues, human rights
and welfare benefits.
Ruth helps clients who have
problems with their benefits, includingincome support, incapacity
benefit, disability living allowance, pensioncredit, and housing
benefit. She also undertakes other litigationrelating to property,
examples of which include disputes in relation torights to
use land.
In addition to the above,
Ruth volunteers to help at the Mary Ward LegalCentre once
a month, she volunteers at the Camden Law Centre and alsoassists
by providing representation on the duty advocate scheme at
theClerkenwell County Court and Central London County Court.
Ruth is amember of the Housing Law Practitioner Association
and regularly attendstheir seminars and conferences
When not in disagreement
with opponents, Ruth enjoys recreational walking,
cooking, and relaxing with family and friends.
