Rent Reviews

Landlords would always prefer to keep their properties let for a good market rent. As such, in a bouyant property market, most Landlords will use their rights to review, and usually, increase the rent charged for their premises (where the right is available to them). We are able to advise both landlords (including Housing Associations) and tenants of residential or commerical properties in relation to rent reviews. If you have any questions similar to those shown below, please contact us and one of our team may be able to assist you.

Some questions raised by Landlords:

  • I would like to exercise a rent review – do I have the right to do so, and when can I do this?
  • How do I know what rent I can reasonably charge my tenant?
  • What is the procedure by which I can increase the rent demanded?
  • Does the tenant have a right to challenge the rent increase? What happens then?

Some questions raised by Tenants:

  • Can my landlord increase my rent at any time? Do they have to give me notice?
  • Can I challenge the rent increase which my landlord is seeking? How?
