International Adoption Centre
1 February 2006
Osbornes sponsored a fundraising event for the International Adoption Centre on 1 February 2006. The event, an ‘Opera Extravaganza’, which was attended by Osbornes consultant and International adoption expert Naomi Angell, was a great success. The IAC is a registered charity providing advice, information, training, preparation and development work on inter-country adoption.
Please direct any enquiries about this area of law to Naomi or her assistant Anest Mathias.

The Party
We were delighted to open the doors of our newly refurbished offices early for a Christmas office-warming party. More than 300 guests joined us for an evening of civillised bonhomie (drinks reception on top floor) and festive revellry (band and disco below) on 14 December 2005, leaving us just enough time to redecorate (!) before opening for business from 4 January 2006.

Shelter Quiz Night
Chun, Helen, Charlotte, Becky and Katie entered the Shelter Quiz night organised by London Young Professionals Group sponsored by various companies including The Times.
We contributed £80.00 between us for the total £2,000+ raised. Although we failed to carry away the winning prize of the half crate of champagne – we did manage to roll away with three (of eight) bonus prize T-shirts and badges!

APIL Accreditation
The Association of Personal Injury Lawyers is a national campaign organisation that champions the rights of injured people. Osbornes personal injury solicitors are all members of the organisation.
APIL has recently introduced its own accreditation scheme to allow the public clear routes and access to specialist personal injury lawyers. Our PI team was awarded the status “APIL accredited lawyers” by APIL in October 2005 and in the same month Partner Stuart Kightley was appointed a Fellow of the organisation, fellow Partner Wendy Wright as Senior Litigator and Associate Jenny Jones as Litigator.
