Julian is head of department. He was recruited in 1997 from national firm Shoosmiths, where he ran their Family team, and became a partner here the following year. |

Mark
Freedman |
| Mark studied at
Manchester University and the college of Law in
York. He then took a 12 month career break to work
for a children’s charity, before joining Osbornes
as a Trainee Solicitor in 1994. Upon qualification
in 1996, Mark joined the Family department and has
remained there ever since, gaining promotion to
partner in 2000. |

Bridget
Thompson |
Bridget has been a partner at Osbornes since July 2000. A New Zealander, she is a graduate of Otago University, where she graduated in Law and History. Bridget qualified as a lawyer in 1985, she practiced originally in New Zealand before transferring to the UK in 1992. |

Lisa
Pepper |
| Having completed
her training contract at Gordon Dadds Lisa qualified
in October 2003 and joined Hughes Fowler Carruthers.
She moved to Mishcon de Reya before joining Osbornes
in May 2006. Lisa is a Partner in the
family department. |

Naomi
Angell |
Naomi Angell specialises in all areas of children’s law and in particular international and domestic adoption, children’s cases with an immigration interface, child protection, surrogacy and other fertility law cases. |

McGrath |
| Simone specialises
in all aspects of private and public law children
work. She has particular expertise in domestic and
international Child Abduction and is a member of
the panel of lawyers instructed in child abduction
work by the International Child Abduction and Contact
Unit at the Official Solicitor’s Department. |

Ruth
de Fraine |
| Previously a journalist,
Ruth decided to change career after having two children.
She trained at Osbornes and qualified into the family
department in 1999. Ruth specialises in Children
Law, particularly child care work and is an accredited
member of the Law Society Children Panel. |

Andrew Watson |
Andrew Watson is an Associate Solicitor in the Family Department. He joined the firm in 1999 after being called to the Bar in 1997. |

Maria
Kitsiou |
| After qualifying
as a solicitor Maria joined Osbornes in March 2001
to specialise in family law. Maria has experience
in children work, both public and private, financial
relief on divorce and other matters arising from
family breakdown. |

Sara
Sanderson |
| Sara is originally
from Manchester but migrated to London to join Osbornes
as a trainee in 2001. She liked the firm so
much that she stayed on after qualifying in 2003
and now works in the family department. |

Susan
Smith |
After obtaining a degree in History, Sue decided to pursue a career in law. She joined the firm in 2002 as a trainee solicitor and qualified as a solicitor in 2004. She was made an associate in 2010. |

Anest
Mathias |
Anest qualified as a solicitor in October 2005 after completing her training at Osbornes.
Anest undertakes a range of family work. Anest represents parents and family members in public law proceedings and private law proceedings including proceedings where there are issues about domestic violence, abduction and threatened abduction. In relation to ancillary relief, Anest has a particular niche in cases where one party is also subject to confiscation proceedings following a criminal conviction. |

Smith |
| Katie joined Osbornes
as a solicitor in June 2008. She graduated
from Nottingham Trent University in 2004 and completed
her diploma in Legal Practice at Nottingham Law
School in 2007. |

Mark obtained a degree in Physics from Oxford University before completing his Graduate Diploma in Law at City University and Legal Practice Course at Cardiff University. |

Paven
Basuita |
Paven has a broad range of experience in family matters from divorce and financial matters to children related cases. She is experienced in offering advice relating to divorce, financial settlement, pre-nuptial agreements and can advise on how finances should be resolved where the parties were not married. In terms of children cases, Paven advises on residence and contact applications as well as more complex applications such as relocation to another country. She also advises on emergency applications such as prohibited steps orders and injunctions. |

Varsani Atkins |
| Neelum graduated
from the University of Bristol in 2003 with a 2.1
in law. She then went on to complete the LPC with
distinction at the College of Law, London. She completed
her training at Russell-Cooke LLP in September 2008
following which she joined Osbornes as a paralegal
in the family department. |

Parris |
Alexandra
graduated with First Class Honours in 2006 after
reading law at Nottingham Trent University, and
was awarded a Merit after studying for her Masters
in Law at University College London in 2007.

Courtney Cutten |
Courtney graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (Business Law and Marketing), with distinction, from Curtin University of Technology in Western Australia in November 2006.In recognition of her outstanding achievements at University, Courtney made a member of the Vice Chancellor's List, which recognises the top 1% of undergraduate students across all disciplines at Curtin. |
