Family Law

Our family department is one of the most well respected specialist family law departments in London. For many years the department has been recognised by the independent legal practice guides, Chambers and The Legal 500. The Legal 500 said that the “excellent Osbornes is consistently recommended by market observers”. The family department is also one of the largest family law departments in London.

The family team comprises four partners, Julian Beard, Mark Freedman, Bridget Thompson and Lisa Pepper. The department also has two leading consultants, Naomi Angell and Simone McGrath. In total there are 16 solicitors in the department of all levels of experience.

Family law encompasses a broad range of disputes. Please click on the links opposite for further information regarding the specialist areas we deal with. Within the department there are independently accredited specialists in matrimonial finance, cohabitation, children law, child abduction and adoption.

All of our family department solicitors are members of Resolution, the association for family lawyers committed to the constructive resolution of family disputes, and they work within Resolution’s code of conduct. They are all approachable and fully recognise the anxiety and distress that family disputes can cause. They also all have a commercial, practical and realistic attitude to dispute resolution for their clients. The department also undertakes publicly funded work when clients are eligible.
